Our work on the effects of metformin on prostate cancer stem cells is now published at the Eurasian Journal of Medicine and Oncology. This article is the 4th article of mine. I am very excited about it.
Although a review titled “Metformin and prostate cancer stem cells: a novel therapeutic target” was published in 2015 there wasn’t even one study that shows the effects of metformin on prostate cancer stem cells. Interestingly this review was cited numerously. I don’t know if people saw this review and thought “this topic is already well studied so we shouldn’t start studying it.” All being said our study is the first to show the anti-cancer effects of metformin on prostate cancer stem cells.
As in my last article, I was mostly involved in this one at the writing phase. Because of this, I can’t thank enough to my professor Eda Açıkgöz.
