I checked my Google Scholar profile regularly just to see zero citations all the time. One night I wanted to see that sad profile again but boom! There it was. I had one citation. I was like “oh my, oh my, oh my (8x times)”. I texted my friends to say that I am no longer a part of them. I was in an elite league now! LOL
Besides the fun part of getting the first citation, I am delighted, and I look at the future with more hope and enthusiasm. I don’t know how many articles I will be in and citations I will get in the future but this feels great.
They cited our work titled “The Effect of Trichostatin A on Radiosensitivity in Glioblastoma“. It’s actually a poster presentation and I was surprised to see the citation. But still… Nice.
