My project will be funded by TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) as 2209/A Undergraduate Student Project.
We will investigate the effects of temozolomide and trichostatin A in glioblastoma cell lines.
Temozolomide has been utilized to treat glioblastoma which is the most lethal and aggressive brain tumor.
Trichostatin A is a histone deacetylase inhibitor. Trichostatin A “opens” tumor suppressor genes and it has apoptotic effects.
This project means a lot to me because this might be the first time I will be doing something significant on my own at medical school but of course under the supervision of Dr. Mehmet Taşpınar.
That’s one giant step for a man one tiny leap for humanity.
