Remembering and following up on my old posts brings me great joy. 4 years ago I wrote a piece about why reading the backgrounds of what I will listen to or watch before an event. I found that this enriches the experience quite a lot.
From a greater perspective, understanding the reasons and meaning behind things increases the joy from that and maybe lessens the sorrows of being alive.
After the heavy words, I can get back to the beginning. Today we went to a Presidential Symphony Orchestra Concert to listen to La Campanella. I have listened to La Campanella from pianists but never from a violinist. Bas Wiegers and Svetlin Roussev put up a great performance and were applauded for some time. The problem was started after the long applauds 🙂
We arrived late to the concert and didn’t have time to read the programme. After the long applause, we thought that the concert was over and went out to take a breath. However, one of our friends was separated from us just before the concert. So, she went back in because she read the programme I think while we were waiting for her outside. We drank tea and waited for the end of the concert 🙂 I was sad to miss the second part, but it became a funny memory for us and a great reminder. I won’t forget to read about the event.
